I’m fascinated with color! I love to paint objects from nature because of the infinite variety of colors to be found there. Nature has a limitless variety of abstract shapes, making it’s forms ideal subject matter for me. I don't consider my self any one genre, as I find labels to be inherently limiting and art is infinite. I paint what calls to me, I paint what catches my eye in the hopes of letting others see what I see.

I have over the years transitioned from acrylics to oils. Oil painting is like painting with gems. Oils have enhanced my fascination with color and form. As an artist, I’m also fascinated with the process of art, not just the end result. I believe that the creative process is inherent in human beings, a need that has found outlet from the cave paintings of the Neolithic to the contemporary art scene involving computer generated images.

I'm just re-entering the art world after a long hiatus spent raising children. I feel that the experiences I had during that time have made me a richer person and a more mature artist. My work had definitely benefited from the time that I spent as a dedicated mother.

In 1991, as an art student, I won a Best of Show for a pastel work, in a Student Art Competition. That same year, I won a Second Place and an Honorable Mention in the Lompoc Art Association yearly art competition.

In 1994 I graduated art school, and moved to Oregon.

In Oregon, I concentrated on children and the fabulous countryside around me.

In 1997, my work was accepted in a gallery, now closed, the Casa De Flores in Oakland, Oregon. I've currently finished a month long show at the Potter's Quarter in the Oakway Center, and I'm also in the process of scheduling a show at the Artist's Tree in Spokane, Wa for April 2007.

I also have a painting, "Fruit of the Vine", on display at Oregano's Grill, in Eugene, OR as well as images of current paintings going on display at the Bijou Art Theatre in Eugene, Or. I have also sold paintings through benefit silent auctions for the Laurel Hill Center, as well as the Pearl S. Buck Center in Eugene.
